Today, we had only one mission, get ourselves to Ushuaia…sounds easier said than done…we almost had a big Ooops moment…last night as I was arranging for a taxi to pick us up this morning, I realized that we were leaving from the international airport…when Aerolineas changed my flight a few months ago, they not only changed the flight, they also changed the airport, and I did not realize it…so here I was thinking we were leaving from the domestic airport which is very close to downtown when we were actually leaving from the international one, which is much farther away…so we had a 5:30 AM pickup…we made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare…the flight itself was uneventful…we made it to Ushuaia with all our luggage and gear, so now all we have to do is get ourselves on the ship Saturday afternoon…
Tomorrow we are going on a short cruise that will bring us to a Magellanic penguin rookery…should be fun…I have a few shots of Ushuaia below…we’re at the End of the World…
Aujourd’hui, nous n’avions qu’une seule mission, nous rendre à Ushuaia…plus facile à dire qu’à faire…nous avons failli avoir une méchante surprise…hier soir, alors que je faisais nos arrangements pour un taxi pour venir nous chercher ce matin, j’ai réalisé que nous partions de l’aéroport international…quand Aerolineas a changé mon vol il y a quelques mois, ils ont non seulement changé le vol, mais ils ont aussi changé l’aéroport, et je ne m’en suis pas rendu compte…alors, je pensais que nous quittions à partir de l’aéroport domestique qui est très proche du centre-ville alors que nous envolions de l’aéroport international, qui est beaucoup plus loin…nous avons donc pris notre taxi 5 h 30 ce matin…nous sommes arrivés à l’aéroport avec beaucoup de temps libre avant l’envolée…le vol lui-même était sans incident…nous sommes arrivés à Ushuaia avec tous nos bagages et notre équipement, alors maintenant tout ce que nous avons à faire est de monter sur le navire samedi après-midi…
Demain, nous partons pour une courte croisière qui nous amènera à une colonie de pingouins Magellan…ça devrait être amusant…j’ai inclus quelques photos d’Ushuaia…nous sommes Au Bout du Monde…
