Today was a more relaxed day…no polar bears to disrupt the daily plan…Indian Harbour is an abandoned settlement, on the shores of Labrador…while there isn’t a lot going on at Indian Harbour, the geology of the islands is interesting and it provided a nice setting for our daily activities…
On our way to Indian Harbour, we saw a few marine birds such as puffins, razorbills and common murres…the sherpa took the day off and went kayaking…I spent the morning navigating around the islands on a zodiac cruise…while there was some wildlife, it wasn’t the easiest to photograph, and you had to be at the right place at the right time…it didn’t help when a plane on its way to Goose Bay came buzzing over us at a low altitude…the seals were scared into the water…there were a lot of bobbing heads in the water.
Aujourd’hui, c’était une journée plus détendue…pas d’ours polaires pour perturber les activités quotidiennes…Indian Harbour est une mission abandonnée, sur les rives du Labrador…bien qu’il ne se passe pas grand-chose à Indian Harbour, la géologie des îles est intéressante et elle a fourni un cadre agréable pour nos activités quotidiennes…
En route vers Indian Harbour, nous avons vu quelques oiseaux marins tels que des macareux, des “petit pingouins” et des guillemots marmette…le sherpa a pris un jour de congé et a fait du kayak…j’ai passé la matinée à naviguer autour des îles lors d’une excursion en zodiaque…il y avait de la faune, mais la photographie n’était facile…il fallait être au bon endroit au bon moment…cela n’a pas aidé lorsqu’un avion en route vers Goose Bay a survolé notre site à basse altitude…les phoques se sont réfugiés dans l’eau…il y avait beaucoup de têtes qui flottaient dans l’eau.
